We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dog Handler to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with trained service dogs to enhance security operations at various sites. Your responsibilities will include handling, caring for, and deploying dogs to maintain safety, conduct patrols, and assist in various security tasks. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work with highly trained animals while contributing to a secure environment.
Duties
- Handle and care for security dogs, ensuring they are well-trained, healthy, and ready for duty
- Conduct patrols using dogs to monitor premises and deter unauthorized access or suspicious activity
- Assist in search operations for contraband or missing persons as needed
- Maintain the safety and well-being of the dogs during all activities
- Support the training and reinforcement of obedience commands and specialized skills
- Collaborate with security personnel to develop effective deployment strategies
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as moving equipment or supplies related to dog care
Requirements
- Prior veterinary experience or animal care background is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and handling techniques
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when required
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Reliable, energetic, with a proactive approach to safety and animal welfare
