Job Overview
JF Care Team is recruiting a Complex Support Worker to support a young man with a traumatic brain injury in his own home and within the community.
Due to a physical disability, he requires support with all aspects of daily living. He also has cognitive impairments, and support workers play a key role in promoting independence, offering choice, and encouraging meaningful engagement.
Our client is determined, good-humoured, and motivated to make progress. This role is suited to someone who is confident, reliable, resilient, and proactive, and who can remain calm, patient, and professional when supporting an individual who may display behaviours of concern.
Available Permanent Shifts
We work on a 4-week rolling rota.
We are currently recruiting to permanently cover the following 12-hour day shifts (8:00 AM to 8:00 PM):
- Week 1: Sunday
- Week 2: No vacancies
- Week 3: Saturday and Sunday
- Week 4: Sunday

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality 2:1 person-centred care and support.
- Assist with all aspects of daily living, including personal care.
- Support physiotherapy and rehabilitation programmes.
- Encourage physical, social, and community engagement.
- Promote independence while maintaining safety and dignity.
- Respond calmly and professionally in challenging situations.
- Maintain accurate care documentation to a high standard.
- Work collaboratively with family members and healthcare professionals.
What We Are Looking For

- Strong communication skills with good spoken and written English.
- Empathy and a person-centred approach to care.
- Reliable and flexible, with availability to work weekend day shifts.
- Willingness to learn and undertake specialist training.
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, acquired brain injury, or learning disabilities is preferred, although full training will be provided to the right candidate.
- Comfortable supporting non-verbal clients.
- A valid UK driving licence is preferred.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check required.
- Previous care experience is preferred but not essential.
- Must be able to reliably commute to Portsmouth PO6 1DA or relocate before starting.
