An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Administrator / Legal Secretary to join a busy Family Law Department within a well-established and highly regarded law firm based in Whitley Bay.
This is a key support role within a friendly and professional team, assisting fee earners who handle a range of sensitive family law matters including divorce, separation, children arrangements, and financial settlements.
The Role
You will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to solicitors within the Family Department. Duties will include:
Dealing with legal correspondence, court documents, and reports
Managing diaries, arranging appointments, and scheduling hearings
Handling incoming telephone calls and client enquiries with professionalism and empathy
Preparing, organising, and maintaining case files (digital and paper-based)
Liaising with courts, clients, counsel, and external organisations
General administrative duties including scanning, filing, and post handling
Supporting compliance and file management processes
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in a legal secretarial or administrative role (family law experience desirable but not essential)
Strong audio typing and document production skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively
A professional and sensitive approach when dealing with family-related matters
