Parts Supervisor
Location: Worthing, West Sussex
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent
Salary: Up to £37,583 per annum (including 1 in 3 Saturdays at overtime rate)
Hours: 45 hours per week (plus 1 in 3 Saturdays)
Working Pattern:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 6:00pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)
- 1 in 3 Saturdays, 7:00am - 1:00pm (paid at overtime rate)

We're currently looking for an experienced and motivated Parts Supervisor to lead our busy Parts Department in Worthing.
About the Role
As the Parts Supervisor, you'll oversee the day-to-day operation of the Parts Department, ensuring the team delivers an outstanding service to both internal and external customers. Working closely with the Site Manager, you'll lead, motivate and support the Parts team while maintaining high standards of customer service, stock control, compliance and operational performance.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Parts Advisor who is ready to step into a supervisory role, or an existing Parts Supervisor looking to further develop their career within a professional Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle dealership.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead, support and motivate the Parts team to deliver exceptional service, operational efficiency and departmental performance.
· Work closely with the Site Manager to set, monitor and achieve Parts Department objectives.
· Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Parts Department, ensuring the workshop receives parts quickly and efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime and maximise productivity.
· Ensure parts are sourced, ordered and supplied promptly in accordance with Company and Mercedes-Benz manufacturer guidelines, whilst keeping Vehicle Off Road (VOR) orders to a minimum wherever possible.
· Ensure the Parts team accurately process all parts receipts, returns, stock movements and documentation in a timely manner.
· Maintain appropriate stock levels through effective inventory management whilst monitoring stock holding, obsolescence and availability.
· Ensure the Parts Department consistently delivers a professional and efficient service to workshop, retail and trade customers.
· Ensure compliance with Company and Mercedes-Benz systems, processes and standards, including RIMS, CORS, TRP, PDRs and stock checks.
· Support the manufacturer's 24-hour recovery and warranty processes in line with Mercedes-Benz standards.
· Develop strong working relationships with colleagues across the business, particularly the Workshop, Service and Sales departments, to ensure effective communication and operational efficiency.
· Identify opportunities to improve departmental performance, customer service and profitability, implementing improvement plans where appropriate.
· Review departmental performance and financial results with the Site Manager.
· Support recruitment, induction and training of Parts team members alongside the Site Manager and HR.
· Coach, develop and manage the performance of the Parts team, ensuring high standards of professionalism, presentation and customer service.
· Ensure departmental housekeeping, merchandising and Health & Safety standards are maintained at all times.
· Maintain accurate administrative procedures relating to stock control, warranty, cash handling, credit control and Work in Progress (WIP).
· Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring prompt resolution and a positive customer experience.
About You
To be successful in this role you'll have:
Essential
- Previous experience as a Parts Advisor within a commercial vehicle or motor dealership.
- Experience leading, coaching or supporting a team.
- Strong knowledge of parts ordering, stock control and inventory management.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to contribute to departmental performance.
- Good IT and administration skills.
- A proactive, professional and team-focused attitude.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Kerridge / Keyloop experience.
- Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturer warranty processes.
- Experience monitoring departmental profitability and stock performance.
