Job Summary
The Catering Assistant supports the catering team in preparing, serving, and presenting food and beverages while maintaining high standards of hygiene and customer service. This role is key to ensuring smooth daily catering operations in line with food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of food and beverages
- Serve meals and refreshments to customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Set up and clear dining areas, including tables, counters, and equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchens, food service areas, and utensils
- Wash dishes, cookware, and catering equipment
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations at all times
- Stock and replenish food items and supplies as needed
- Assist with deliveries and storage of food supplies
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to basic customer queries
Skills & Requirements
- Previous catering or food service experience (preferred but not essential)
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends or evenings if required
- Physically able to stand for long periods and carry light to moderate loads
Desirable Qualifications
- Food Safety or Hygiene Certificate
- Experience working in catering, hospitality, or kitchen environments
