Materials Engineering Group (MEG) is a Derby based company providing services centred around Welder training and testing & NDT. We currently hold ISO 9001:2015, RISQS and other relevant company qualifications. We are a 3rd party accredited testing centre and HVAC approved.
Due to increased customer demand, we are seeking to appoint a full or part time position to provide support to our full time trainers. The position would suit an experienced welder with a training background that has covered some welding assessments duties, or from a related industry such as Heating and Ventilation, plumbing etc.
We envisage the work being principally the assessment of welding test pieces against welding standards and delivery of Oxy-fuel gas cutting and Brazing & Silver Soldering courses. This may be at our Welding test centre in Derby or at customer sites which are located around the UK.
Applicants should be experienced in some or all of the following welding processes and associated skills: MMA/MAGS/TIG welding, Flame cutting, Brazing and Silver Soldering and have a minimum of Level 2 NVQ, have a knowledge of welding procedures, writing reports or teaching and assessment qualifications would be an advantage but not essential.
We are flexible in the part time aspect but envisage 3 days per week and are willing to provide training to support a candidate's existing skills in this area.
A full clean driving licence is essential as there will be a requirement to travel and possible overnight stays.
A flexible and positive attitude will be required to join our supportive team.
A company vehicle is provided for travelling to customer sites.

This is a genuine permanent job opportunity with a competitive package for the right person. Salary dependant on skills and experience, full time circa £30,000 to £35,000k per annum.
