We are seeking a friendly and efficient Counter Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately
- Prepare and serve food items in accordance with health and safety standards
- Handle cash transactions and operate the point-of-sale system efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area
- Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities
- Ensure food safety protocols are strictly followed at all times
- Assist in basic food preparation tasks as required
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly
- Support team members in maintaining high standards of service and hygiene
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Basic maths skills for handling cash and transactions accurately
- Experience in food preparation or kitchen work is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work well under pressure and demonstrate good time management
- Willingness to learn new skills such as upselling techniques and food presentation techniques
