Rate of Pay: £17.50p/h
Salary: £11200
Two stage interview:
- Interview with the CEO and Centre Manager week of 6th July
- Invited to a group interview, running a small activity with young people in person week of 13th July
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play & Youth Worker to join our team on a maternity cover basis for a period of approximately nine months (40 weeks). This is an afternoon and evening role. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people, supporting their development through engaging activities and mentoring. The successful candidate will be passionate about youth work, possess strong organisational skills, and have experience working with children in diverse settings. This position is fully paid and ideal for individuals committed to making a positive impact within our community.
Responsibilities
- Safeguarding and ensuring young people's well-being
- Running and supporting high quality Play & Youth Work activities for young people
- Supporting the running of our holiday programme for young people
- Monitoring behaviour, engagement, and safety
- Supporting session evaluation and feedback
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Preparing and distributing snacks
- Working as part of the Play & Youth team
Qualifications
- Experience in teaching, youth work, or working with children is highly desirable
- Knowledge of mentoring techniques and youth engagement strategies
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with children, young people, and colleagues
- Organised with the ability to plan engaging activities that promote learning and development
- Relevant qualifications in teaching, youth work, or childcare are preferred but not essential
- Commitment to safeguarding practices and promoting positive behaviour standards
