First Rate Maintenance are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Joiner to join our growing team.
This role is ideal for a tradesperson with strong first and second fix joinery experience who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. Experience fitting kitchens is essential, as a significant proportion of our projects involve kitchen installations and refurbishments within occupied residential properties.
You will work across a range of residential and commercial properties throughout Newcastle upon Tyne and the wider North East.

Working Hours
Our standard working pattern is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 8:30am and 5:00pm.
Additional overtime opportunities may be available during peak periods.

The Role
As an Experienced Joiner, you will carry out a wide range of joinery, refurbishment and maintenance works across residential and commercial properties.
You will be expected to work independently when required, collaborate effectively with colleagues and subcontractors, and represent the company professionally while working in customers' homes and business premises.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out first fix joinery, including structural and framing work
Completing second fix joinery, including doors, frames, skirting boards, architraves and finishing carpentry
Fitting kitchens, including cabinets, worktops and associated finishing works
Installing, maintaining and repairing fire doors
Carrying out general property refurbishment and maintenance tasks
Measuring, preparing and fitting materials accurately
Diagnosing and resolving on-site issues efficiently
Working collaboratively with colleagues and subcontractors
Updating job progress using company software
Uploading photographs and detailed job notes
Maintaining tools, equipment and company vehicles to a high standard
Delivering excellent customer service and representing the business professionally
Ensuring all work meets company quality standards and relevant health and safety requirements
What We Are Looking For

Proven experience in first and second fix joinery
Strong kitchen fitting experience

Full UK driving licence
Desirable
NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery, or an equivalent qualification
Experience fitting and maintaining fire doors to the required standards
Valid CSCS card
Experience working in occupied residential properties
Multi-skilled experience in areas such as tiling, decorating, minor plumbing or general property maintenance
Experience using job management or field service software
