About the role
As a Care Assistant at Autumn House, you’ll be an important part of our residents’ daily lives, providing practical and emotional support while encouraging them to remain as independent as possible.
No two days are exactly the same. You’ll spend time getting to know our residents, understanding their individual needs and preferences, and helping to make Autumn House a comfortable, welcoming place to live.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting residents with their day-to-day needs while encouraging independence
- Providing personal care, including assistance with washing, dressing, toileting and mealtimes where required
- Supporting residents’ emotional wellbeing and providing companionship
- Promoting residents’ privacy, dignity, choice and independence at all times
- Supporting the planning and delivery of individualised care
- Contributing to care reviews and following residents’ care plans
- Taking part in the keyworker system
- Accompanying residents to appointments, hospital visits, shopping trips and outings when required
- Observing residents’ wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns appropriately
- Helping to create a safe, comfortable and positive environment within the home
- Attending training sessions and team meetings to continually develop your knowledge and care skills
- Following safeguarding procedures and promptly reporting any concerns regarding a resident’s welfare

Previous care experience is welcome, but full training is provided. What matters most is having the right attitude and a genuine desire to make a positive difference to the lives of our residents.
