About the Role
As a Lecturer in Brickwork, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning across a range of construction programmes, supporting students to achieve their qualifications and reach their full potential.
You will combine practical workshop delivery with classroom-based learning, ensuring that students develop both the technical skills and industry knowledge required by employers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching in Brickwork and related construction subjects.
- Plan, prepare and assess learning activities to meet awarding body requirements.
- Support, motivate and inspire learners of different abilities and backgrounds.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe and effective learning environment in line with health and safety regulations.
- Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, employers, and external stakeholders to enhance the learner experience.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- A recognised Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Brickwork or a related construction trade.
- Recent industry experience within the construction sector.
- Excellent practical brickwork skills and up-to-date industry knowledge.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to supporting learner achievement and success.
Desirable
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent).
- Assessor and/or Internal Quality Assurer qualifications.
- Previous experience teaching or training apprentices and learners.
- Experience within Further Education.
