Sales Assistant – Total Tools Department
Location: In-Excess, Fair Oak
Hours: Part-time, weekdays and one weekend day
We are looking for a knowledgeable and approachable Sales Assistant to join the Total Tools department at our Fair Oak store.
Total Tools is our dedicated specialist tool department, located within the wider In-Excess Fair Oak store. It offers customers an extensive range of quality hand tools, power tools and accessories, supported by practical, knowledgeable advice.
About the role
You will help customers select the right tools for their needs, explaining product features and demonstrating how products work where appropriate. You will also help maintain an organised, well-stocked and welcoming department.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming customers and providing friendly, practical advice
- Helping customers choose appropriate tools and accessories
- Explaining product features, uses and differences
- Demonstrating tools safely and confidently where required
- Developing a good understanding of the Total Tools product range
- Replenishing stock and keeping displays tidy and well presented
- Supporting stock checks, pricing and promotional activity
- Working closely with colleagues across the wider Fair Oak store
- Following all company health and safety procedures
About you
We are ideally looking for someone who:
- Has good practical knowledge of hand tools and power tools
- Has previously worked in a trade, practical role, tool department or similar environment
- Can explain and demonstrate products clearly and confidently
- Enjoys helping customers and providing excellent service
- Is friendly, reliable and comfortable working as part of a team
- Has good attention to detail and takes pride in presentation
- Is willing to continue learning about new products
This role could particularly suit an experienced tradesperson or someone from a practical background who is now looking to reduce their working hours while continuing to put their knowledge and experience to good use.
The position is part-time and will include weekday hours and one weekend day each week.
