Platinum Boarding Kennels – Southwell, NG25
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kennel Assistant to join our Welfare Team on a zero-hours contract.
This is a practical, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day care and welfare of the dogs staying with us and supporting our onsite trainers.
A large part of the role involves cleaning kennels and maintaining the dogs' environment, alongside feeding and general welfare duties. This is a physical job and applicants need to be happy working indoors and outdoors in all weather.
The role includes:
- Cleaning and disinfecting kennels and working areas
- Preparing food and feeding dogs
- Washing bowls, bedding and equipment and completing laundry
- Keeping kennel areas clean, tidy and safe
- Carrying out basic welfare checks and reporting any concerns
- Completing simple feeding, cleaning and welfare records
- Supporting onsite trainers with the day-to-day care and movement of dogs
- Following kennel procedures, hygiene and health & safety requirements
- Interacting with owners at drop off and pick up
We care for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, including some with more complex behavioural needs. You will receive appropriate training and will not be expected to handle dogs outside your training or experience.

Previous kennel experience would be helpful but is not essential, as training will be provided.
Hours and contract
This position is offered on a zero-hours contract, with shifts offered according to business requirements and availability. This could include weekend work.
Typical shift times:
- Monday–Friday: 8am–5pm
- Saturday & Sunday: 7am–4pm
Hours will vary and no minimum number of hours is guaranteed.
Pay: National Minimum Wage applicable to age
