Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Assistant to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is vital in ensuring smooth daily operations within our restaurant or hotel setting. Duties
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and assembling ingredients
- Support chefs with cooking and plating as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned, sanitised, and stored correctly
- Help with organisation of supplies and stock rotation to ensure freshness and safety standards are met
- Support serving staff during busy periods by assisting with clearing tables or delivering food when required
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe working environment
- Assist with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with company policies
Requirements:
- Knowledge of restaurant or hotel kitchen operations is advantageous
- Basic understanding of hygiene standards and health & safety regulations within a culinary environment
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary.
