Curtain Maker – James David Interiors
Job Summary
James David Interiors are seeking a skilled Curtain Maker to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture of bespoke curtains, soft blinds, and soft furnishings to an exceptional standard. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail and strong experience in both machine and hand sewing.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect fabrics and linings carefully to ensure they are free from defects prior to manufacture
- Measure and cut fabrics and linings accurately according to workroom instructions
- Sew curtains, blinds, and other soft furnishings with precision and a strong focus on quality
- Operate sewing machines and related equipment safely and efficiently
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and senior management to ensure orders are completed on schedule
- Inspect finished products for defects or inconsistencies before pre‑installation preparation
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace in line with health and safety standards
Experience & Skills
- Experience in curtain making, hand sewing, and machine sewing is preferable (flat machine, blind hemmer, and overlocker)
- Proven sewing ability with confidence handling a variety of fabrics and techniques
- Familiarity with measuring tools and fabric‑cutting procedures
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

Pay: £14.00-£18.00 per hour
