We are looking for an experienced PSV Auto Electrician to join our engineering team based at our Crawley depot. Working Monday to Friday, 06:00–14:30, this role is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing electrical systems across a modern bus and coach fleet, ensuring vehicles remain safe, reliable and fully operational.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PSV Electrician, HGV Electrician, Auto Electrician or Commercial Vehicle Electrician looking to develop their career within the bus and coach industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance on PSV vehicles.
- Inspect, test and repair vehicle electrical systems and components.
- Diagnose electrical faults using specialist diagnostic equipment.
- Identify and resolve issues with wiring, control systems and vehicle electronics.
- Work with modern vehicle technologies, including CAN Bus systems.
- Complete all work safely and in line with company procedures and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections and maintenance activities.
- Take ownership of tasks and ensure high-quality workmanship is delivered.
About You
We are looking for a skilled and reliable technician with experience in vehicle electrical systems.
Essential requirements:
- Previous experience as a PSV Electrician, HGV Electrician, Auto Electrician or Commercial Vehicle Electrician.
- NVQ Level 3 in PSV/HGV Electrical Maintenance or an equivalent qualification.
- Full UK manual driving licence.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of 24V vehicle electrical systems and CAN Bus technology.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing positively within a team.
- Good communication skills with a professional and customer-focused approach.
- A proactive attitude with pride in delivering high-quality work.
Desirable:
- Experience working on buses, coaches or other large passenger vehicles.
- PCV licence (or willingness to work towards gaining one).
- Experience using commercial vehicle diagnostic equipment.
