Job Scope
We have an opportunity for a CCTV, Door Access Controls & Perimeter Defence System Engineer to join our team.
As a Cyber Security Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration and commissioning of integrated security systems, with a particular focus on IP-based CCTV and Door Access Control systems.
You will work closely with Project Managers, clients and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, professionally and to the required standards.
The role will involve working Nationwide with regular travel to customer and project sites.
Role & Responsibilities
· Installation, configuration and commissioning of access control systems, including door access controllers, card readers, PIN entry systems, door hardware, request-to-exit devices and associated perimeter defence equipment.
· Installation, configuration and commissioning of IP-based CCTV systems, including network cameras, recording platforms, VMS and associated infrastructure.
· Configure and commission IP CCTV systems, including camera addressing, network configuration, recording, analytics and system integration.
· Undertake installation and commissioning of door entry and intercom systems where required.
· Diagnose faults across CCTV, access control, networking and associated security infrastructure.
· Provide technical support to Project Managers, clients and site teams.
· Attend client and customer meetings to provide technical support as required by the Project/Line Manager.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and system documentation and produce marked up drawings to reflect any changes made at site.
· Complete system testing, commissioning documentation, handover documentation and relevant certification.
· Ensure installations are completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, manufacturer requirements and company procedures.
· Ensure working procedures comply with the company's internal drawing governance process.
· Identify and report technical issues, design discrepancies and variations to the Project Manager.
· Manage own workload and time effectively to meet project deadlines and agreed programme dates.
· Maintain accurate site records, service reports, commissioning documentation and timesheets
· Work professionally and courteously with customers, colleagues, contractors and other site personnel.
· Travel throughout the UK as required to support projects, service works and customer requirements.
Needs to Have
· Minimum 3 years' experience working with IP-based security systems.
· Strong practical experience with CCTV and electronic security systems.
· Experience with Gallagher Security Door Access Systems would be highly advantageous; however, full training can be provided for the right candidate.
· Experience with AXIS IP cameras and associated CCTV/VMS platforms would be highly advantageous.
· Good understanding of IP networking principles, including IP addressing, switches, VLANs and PoE.
· Experience in fault-finding and diagnosing security system issues.
· Full UK Driving License or equivalent – Essential.
· Electrical qualification or equivalent experience – Preferable.
· Based in the North East of England, with the ability and willingness to travel nationally.
· Good attention to detail and accuracy.
· Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
· Ability to work under moderate supervision while demonstrating self-motivation, initiative and sound judgement.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and system documentation.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
· Willingness to work flexibly to meet project and customer requirements.

Pay: £30,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
Experience:
- working with IP-based security systems: 3 years (preferred)
Work Location: In person
