Job Overview
We are looking for a committed and reliable dance teacher to join us on Saturdays in Chorleywood, teaching a mixture of Ballet, Modern, Tap and Jazz classes to children and young people aged 3 - 18. This can be either a long term position, or a temporary role until the end of October.
There are currently 6.25 hours of teaching work available.
We are an ISTD syllabus school but this is show term, so we need someone initially who is comfortable choreographing Ballet, Modern & Jazz routines for our production of 'Peter Pan'.
Responsibilities
- Plan fun an engaging dance lessons
- Follow our health and safety policy to ensure lessons are delivered in a safe manner
- Provide constructive feedback to students to enhance their performance and confidence
- Provide feedback to the Principal on how the lessons are going
- Develop working relationship with the students and families
- Organise and prepare students for exams, performances, competitions, or showcases as required (this term would be our show - Peter Pan)
- Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere in the studio, fostering a love for dance
Experience & Requirements
- Enhanced DBS (can support in obtaining this)
- References (either from another employer or from place of study)
- Previous teaching experience required
- Proficiency in one or more dance styles including Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students
- A passion for teaching
- Relevant qualifications in teaching are desirable, but support can be provided to the right candidate to achieve these if needed
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £20.00-£30.00 per hour
