About Winchester GP
Winchester GP is an established private GP practice serving patients across Hampshire. We pride ourselves on providing prompt access to experienced doctors, longer appointments, continuity of care, and a highly personalised approach to healthcare.
Our philosophy is simple: we take the time to listen, understand, and support our patients. We combine traditional family medicine with access to modern diagnostics, specialist networks, preventative healthcare, and wellbeing services, helping our patients navigate their healthcare journey with confidence and ease.
As a growing practice, we are committed to delivering an outstanding patient experience at every stage of that journey.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional Patient Liaison & Care Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis.
This is not a traditional administrative role. While strong organisational and administrative skills are essential, the heart of this position lies in building relationships, supporting patients, and helping ensure they receive the care they need when they need it.
You will often be the first point of contact for our patients and will play a vital role in creating the warm, professional, and highly personalised experience for which Winchester GP is known.
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, can quickly establish trust and rapport, and takes pride in going the extra mile to help others.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a welcoming and professional first point of contact for patients by telephone, email, and in person.
- Support prospective and existing patients in understanding and accessing our services.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with patients and their families.
- Coordinate appointments, referrals, investigations, and onward care.
- Liaise with consultants, hospitals, diagnostic providers, insurers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Proactively monitor and follow up referrals, investigations, reports, and appointments to support seamless continuity of care.
- Advocate for patients and help navigate barriers or delays within their healthcare journey.
- Ensure patients remain informed and supported throughout their interactions with the practice.
- Maintain accurate patient records and correspondence in accordance with practice policies and confidentiality requirements.
- Support the doctors and wider practice team with day-to-day administrative responsibilities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of patient experience and practice operations.
About You
The ideal candidate will combine excellent administrative abilities with outstanding interpersonal skills.
You will be:
- Warm, approachable, and naturally empathetic.
- An exceptional communicator, both written and verbal.
- Confident building rapport with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Proactive and solutions-focused.
- Persistent and determined when following up on behalf of patients.
- Comfortable advocating for patients and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
- Able to prioritise effectively in a busy and varied environment.
- Professional, discreet, and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Previous experience in a customer-facing, patient-facing, healthcare, hospitality, or service-focused role.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Excellent IT literacy and confidence using digital systems.
- A commitment to delivering exceptional customer and patient service.
Advantageous
- Experience within a GP practice, private healthcare setting, medical administration role, or healthcare coordination position.
- Knowledge of referral pathways and healthcare administration processes.

- Is motivated by providing outstanding service.
- Appreciates that a smooth, well-coordinated healthcare journey can make a significant difference to a patient's wellbeing and peace of mind.

- A supportive, friendly, and collaborative working environment.
- Exposure to a broad and varied range of private primary care services.
