Role Description
The Workshop Assistant is a volunteer role supporting a pilot workshop in Nottingham this August. You'll be on-site for the two workshop days, helping bring each 2-hour session to life for a small group of 12-15 women exploring body image and beauty standards through creative storytelling.
On the day, this includes helping with room setup and light decoration before each session, guiding small groups through prompt cards and activities, supporting timing and flow so sessions run smoothly, and helping manage sign-in and general logistics. You'll be working closely with me throughout, so it's a genuinely hands-on view of how the workshop and framework come together and also possibility working remotely before the workshop like contacting workshop participants.
This is unpaid, as it's an early-stage pilot, but it's a genuine opportunity to gain real, practical experience in event facilitation and you'll be credited for your role throughout.
What I'm looking for
Comfortable supporting group activities and helping people feel at ease, especially around sensitive, personal topics
Good organisational skills — able to help keep timing and logistics on track during a live session
Clear, respectful communication — you'll be supporting participants sharing personal stories, so sensitivity matters
A genuine interest in facilitation, fashion, psychology, community work, or events
Previous experience in facilitation, events, or a related field preferred but not required
Commitment: Two on-site Saturdays on August 22nd and August 29th.
Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Flexible schedule
- On-site parking
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Nottingham
