Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including materials handling, stock management, and order fulfilment. Duties
- Handling materials efficiently using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Loading and unloading goods from lorries and containers, ensuring safe handling practices
- Operating forklift trucks and other warehouse machinery (training provided)
- Managing stock levels through accurate picking, packing, and stock replenishment
- Using warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods
- Conducting quality control checks to maintain high standards of product integrity
- Organising storage areas for optimal space utilisation and accessibility
- Ensuring all health & safety protocols are followed during daily operations
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
Skills
- Proven experience in materials handling, stock management or similar warehouse roles
- Ability to operate forklift trucks and familiarity with warehouse machinery (training available)
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory software
- Experience with shipping & receiving procedures and documentation
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in picking & packing orders
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during stock movement tasks
- Good physical fitness with the capacity for extended periods of standing and walking around the warehouse floor
- Excellent teamwork skills coupled with the ability to work independently when required
- Awareness of health & safety regulations relevant to warehousing environments
