The Role
The role of Administration Officer (Sixth Form) is based in our Sixth Form Resource Centre and is part of our Student Services Team. The Resource Centre houses the Sixth Form Library and study space, and a large communal area for students. The Administration Officer (Sixth Form) is based in the library and study space, supporting the Sixth Form leadership team with administration duties, and supporting the students with day-to-day queries.
An important part of this role is to maintain study conditions in the library during study periods, enforcing local policies as appropriate, i.e. no talking policy. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with young people, establishing trust, respect and rapport quickly.
Duties include the administration of sixth form student attendance and student records using Bromcom, and managing communications with parents via letter, phone, e-mail or other mediums such as specific apps. Working with staff and students to support the administration of UCAS applications and supporting with the facilitation of mock examinations when required. See job description for full details.
Personal Qualities
· Is a confident administrator with proven knowledge or qualifications in Business Administration (minimum level 3 NVQ)
· Is a fully competent user of Microsoft Office packages
· Is an excellent communicator, personable, empathetic and is committed to supporting and safeguarding children
· Is self-motivated and works on their own initiative
· Has a good sense of humour
· Has a working knowledge of GDPR and managing sensitive information
· Experience of Bromcom (or similar school based system)
· Experience working in a secondary school or educational environment
· Experience of UCAS administration
· Experience of school attendance procedures
· First Aid Certification
