In this role, you will support daily administrative operations, ensuring smooth communication and coordination within the nursery. Responsibilities
- Manage front desk duties, including greeting visitors, parents, and staff with professionalism and warmth
- Handle phone inquiries with excellent etiquette, directing calls accurately and courteously
- Maintain organized records of attendance, admissions, and other essential documentation
- Assist with data entry tasks using computer skills in programs like Microsoft Office
- Support billing and bookkeeping activities utilising an accounting software
- Coordinate scheduling for staff and activities to ensure optimal nursery operations
- Perform general clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, and preparing correspondence to keep the office running smoothly
- Maintain a good understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring all concerns are reported promptly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in line with nursery policies and statutory guidance.
- Handle confidential child and family information securely, in accordance with GDPR and safeguarding requirements.
- Promote a culture of safeguarding and health and safety, ensuring statutory requirements, including those set by Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), are met at all times.
Requirements
- GCSE in English and Math level 4 and above
- Prior office experience demonstrating strong organizational and administrative skills
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs), and data entry tools
- Experience financial software is preferred
- Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy in typing and record keeping
- Previous clerical or administrative experience in a childcare or educational setting is a plus
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
