Job Summary
Tailormade Windows & Doors Berkshire Ltd is looking for a reliable and hardworking Self-Employed Window Fitter’s Mate to support our lead fitters on a range of window and door installation projects.

This is a hands-on role and would suit someone practical, reliable, physically fit and keen to learn. Excellent timekeeping, a good attitude and the ability to follow instructions are essential. You will work alongside experienced fitters, helping with the installation of windows, doors and glazing products in customers’ homes.
Responsibilities
- Assist fitters with the installation of windows, doors, frames and associated fixtures
- Help carry tools, materials and equipment to and from job sites
- Support with measuring, lifting, positioning and fitting products accurately
- Help prepare work areas before installation
- Use hand tools and power tools safely under the guidance of experienced fitters
- Assist with lifting, manoeuvring and positioning heavy or awkward window and door units
- Keep work areas clean, tidy and safe throughout each project
- Follow instructions from lead fitters carefully
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times
- Provide general labouring support as required
Requirements
- Previous experience in construction, fitting or labouring preferred, but not essential
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools would be advantageous
- Physically fit and able to carry heavy materials
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail
- Excellent timekeeping and reliability are essential
- Willing to learn and follow instructions
- Strong team player with a proactive attitude
- Good attitude and strong work ethic
- Punctual, reliable and professional
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Basic understanding of site safety preferred
- Full UK driving licence preferred
