Birmingham Electrical Services Ltd is looking to build a trusted working relationship with an experienced self-employed commercial electrician for project work and shorter assignments across Birmingham and the West Midlands.

The work
Assignments may be hourly, half-day, full-day or project-based. Depending on the job, work may include:
- Commercial and retail electrical installations
- Small power, outlets and lighting
- Data cabling, patching and communications rack work
- Wireless access points, CCTV and POS systems
- Fault finding, testing and remedial work where agreed
- Professional completion records and site communication
Pay
- £28–£32 per hour, depending on experience and the scope of work
- Minimum four-hour booking for hourly assignments
- £240–£260 per day for full-day assignments
- Urgent, out-of-hours or specialist testing rates agreed separately
- Travel and parking arrangements agreed before each assignment
- Rates are gross subcontractor rates; VAT will be added where applicable
Requirements
- Proven commercial or retail electrical installation experience
- Relevant electrical qualifications
- Data and IT infrastructure experience desirable
- Suitable, current testing equipment where required
- Appropriate public liability insurance
- Own tools and reliable transport
- A dependable, safety-conscious and professional approach on occupied sites
This is an opportunity for self-employed subcontract work. It is not an offer of permanent employment and does not guarantee ongoing work or minimum hours. Project scope, location, dates and rates will be confirmed before each assignment.
