Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Night Care Assistant to provide dedicated support to residents in a care home setting during overnight hours. The successful candidate will ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents throughout the night, maintaining high standards of care and communication. Duties
- Monitor residents’ conditions throughout the night, responding promptly to their needs and requests
- Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, repositioning, and hydration as required
- Follow individual care plans to ensure personalised support is delivered effectively
- Conduct regular safety checks of the environment to identify and mitigate potential hazards
- Record observations accurately in accordance with care home procedures
- Support residents with mobility and comfort needs, ensuring their safety at all times
- Communicate effectively with team members and family members regarding residents’ wellbeing
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times
- Assist with light domestic tasks to ensure a clean and comfortable environment for residents
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of care plans and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Good IT skills for documentation purposes
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving community or outreach activities but not mandatory
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, respectful, and person-centred care
