Tile & Bathroom Sales Consultant
Location: Maidstone, Kent
Salary: £30,000–£33,000 basic + performance-related commission
OTE: £38,000+
We are looking for an experienced Tile & Bathroom Sales Consultant to join our growing showroom in Maidstone.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with proven experience in the tile and/or bathroom industry who is confident dealing with customers, preparing quotations and converting enquiries into sales.
We're looking for someone who can bring existing industry knowledge and sales experience to the business, while also being hands-on and taking pride in the showroom.
The Role
You'll be responsible for looking after customers from their initial enquiry through to placing their order.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising customers on tiles, bathrooms and associated products
- Understanding customer requirements and recommending suitable products
- Preparing accurate quotations
- Following up enquiries and quotations
- Converting enquiries into profitable sales
- Building strong relationships with retail and trade customers
- Upselling and identifying additional sales opportunities
- Maintaining excellent product and industry knowledge
- Helping customers with their tile and bathroom projects
- Processing orders and liaising with suppliers where required
- Assisting with deliveries and stock when required
- Stacking and organising tiles and bathroom products
- Keeping the showroom, displays and stock areas clean, tidy and organised
- Maintaining a high standard of showroom presentation
- Working towards agreed sales targets
About You
Previous sales experience within the tile and/or bathroom industry is essential.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience selling tiles, bathrooms or both
- Is confident and professional when dealing with customers
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills
- Can prepare quotations and confidently close sales
- Understands margins and the importance of profitable sales
- Is commercially minded and target driven
- Is organised, reliable and hardworking
- Takes pride in their work and appearance
- Is comfortable working independently and taking responsibility
- Is happy to get stuck in with the practical side of running a showroom
- Has a genuine interest in the tile and bathroom industry
Working Hours
Full-time position with weekend availability required.
Working days will be arranged around our showroom opening hours and on a rota basis.
Showroom opening hours:
- Monday–Friday: 8:00am–6:00pm
- Saturday: 9:00am–5:00pm
- Sunday: 10:00am–4:00pm
Weekend working is an important part of the role, so the successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work weekends as part of a rota.
