Experienced Fire Door Installer / Inspector
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Location: West London & Surrounding Areas (Travel Required)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and professional Fire Door Installer / Inspector to join our growing team. This is a field-based role covering West London and the surrounding areas, carrying out fire door installations, remedial works, inspections, and compliance reporting across residential and commercial properties.
This position is best suited to someone with a strong background in fire door compliance who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and understands the importance of fire safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and maintain FD30 and FD60 fire doors to current industry standards.
- Carry out remedial and upgrade works to existing fire doors.
- Conduct detailed fire door inspections and identify non-compliance issues.
- Complete accurate inspection reports and compliance documentation.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with current fire safety legislation and best practice.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, professionalism, and site safety.
- Work independently and as part of a team to deliver projects on schedule.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience installing, maintaining, or inspecting fire doors.
- Proven knowledge of FD30 and FD60 door sets and fire door compliance requirements.
- Experience carrying out remedial works and identifying compliance failures.
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
The following would be advantageous:
- FDIS Diploma or equivalent fire door inspection qualification.
- FIRAS, BM TRADA, or similar industry-recognised certification.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery.
- Experience working within social housing, education, healthcare, or commercial sectors.
