Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dispensing Assistant to join our rural GP Practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the dispensing process within our pharmacy, ensuring accurate and efficient service to our patients. Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and dispensing of medications under supervision, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing queries, offering advice, and supporting patients throughout their visit.
- Maintain organised records of dispensed items and manage stock levels efficiently.
- Support the pharmacy team with administrative tasks, including data entry and filing.
- Ensure the dispensing area is kept clean, safe, and well-organised in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers to facilitate smooth operations within the pharmacy environment.
- Uphold confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion at all times.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in customer service or a healthcare setting is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse clients and team members.
- Good IT skills, including knowledge of EMIS, Docman & AccuRx.
- The ability to support team members and contribute positively to a collaborative environment.
- Excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.

- Buttercups Dispensary training or equivalent would be advantageous. Although training would be given to the right candidate.
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
