We're recruiting on behalf of a growing fire engineering consultancy for a motivated Fire Engineer to join their team. You'll support the delivery of fire engineering solutions across residential and commercial projects, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations while contributing to practical, innovative design work. Clear progression pathways are available, supported by CPD and professional accreditation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review fire strategies in line with UK Building Regulations
- Undertake FRAEWs and external wall appraisal assessments
- Provide technical reports and formal responses to client/design team queries
- Carry out site inspections, including intrusive surveys where required
- Review drawings and specifications for fire safety compliance
- Support remediation design reviews and fire safety improvements
- Contribute to fire safety design: means of escape, compartmentation, smoke control, suppression systems
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams
- Contribute to fire risk assessments and existing building safety reviews
What we're looking for:
- Degree in Fire Engineering or a related discipline
- Working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and fire safety standards
- Familiarity with FRAEWs and remediation approaches (desirable)
- Strong analytical, report-writing, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
