Your next role
Housing and Corporate Repairs sit at the heart of people’s everyday lives, and we’re on a improvement journey to transform how we deliver for our residents. Our ambition is clear: to provide outstanding customer service, deliver value for money, and build modern, responsive services centred around residents’ needs.
It’s an exciting time to join us. We’re investing heavily, embracing innovation, and empowering our teams to make a real difference.
This role plays an important part in ensuring the Council’s contracts are managed effectively and deliver value for money across housing and corporate property services. Reporting to the Service Manager or Service Lead, you will undertake day‑to‑day contract management and contract administration functions, supporting the full contract lifecycle from mobilisation through delivery, review and close‑out.
You will manage a portfolio of contracts, monitoring performance against agreed standards and KPIs, identifying risks and issues, and taking timely action to ensure contracts are delivered as intended. Working closely with technical officers, contract designers and contract administrators, you will coordinate contract activity and oversee core administration processes, including processing payment certificates, valuations, variations and contract instructions, and ensuring accurate records are maintained. You will support financial control by checking costs, validating claims and maintaining clear audit trails to support sound decision‑making.
Alongside contract delivery, you will build effective working relationships across the service and with suppliers, support contract renewals or terminations where required and help ensure services remain resilient, well governed and customer focused. You will play a key role in embedding a culture of accountability, transparency and continuous improvement across contract management and administration activity.
You will have experience in contract management and contract administration, ideally within a public sector or property‑related environment. You will be familiar with processing valuations, payment certificates and contract documentation, and able to manage multiple contracts while interpreting contractual terms. A degree‑level qualification or equivalent experience is desirable, along with strong organisational, analytical and communication skills. You will bring a structured, proactive approach and confidence working collaboratively with technical and administrative colleagues to manage performance, cost and risk.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
