How will I help
As a Credit Officer, you will be responsible for the approval, management and ongoing oversight of credit risk across a portfolio of corporate and institutional clients.
Your portfolio may include clients across Energy, Infrastructure & Resources (EIR), Consumer & Industrials (C&I) and Fund Finance. You will work closely with front office teams to support responsible business growth, ensuring transactions are structured within risk appetite while delivering appropriate risk adjusted returns.
This role provides the opportunity to influence credit decisions across a diverse range of sectors and products, including lending, trade finance, commodities, transition finance and financial markets activities.
Key Accountabilities
- Assess, approve and manage credit risk exposures within delegated authority, or provide recommendations for approval to higher authorities where required.
- Maintain ongoing oversight of a portfolio of corporate and institutional clients, including identification, escalation and management of emerging credit risks.
- Partner with coverage and product teams to support business growth while ensuring adherence to risk appetite and policy requirements.
- Exercise sound judgement in the analysis of transactions, industries and counterparties to support informed credit decisions.
- Work closely with Dealing Room Credit Officers to ensure financial markets activity remains within approved risk parameters.
- Contribute to a strong risk culture through constructive challenge, collaboration and disciplined decision making.
- Support internal governance forums, credit reporting and portfolio reviews.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of credit practices, policies and processes.

What do I need?
- At least 5 to 7 years' experience in credit analysis, credit risk management or credit approval within a banking or financial services environment.
- Previous delegated credit approval authority or experience supporting credit recommendations is desirable.
- Experience analysing corporate, infrastructure, energy, natural resources, fund finance or other institutional banking clients.
- Understanding of lending, trade finance, financial markets products and broader institutional banking activities.
- Strong commercial judgement with the ability to balance risk and return objectives.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess complex credit structures and transactions.
- Working knowledge of legal and transaction documentation, including term sheets, facility agreements, ISDAs and other relevant credit documentation.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, finance, economics or a related discipline.
