Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Vinyl Operative to join our signage manufacturing team. Blaze Signs Ltd has been a market leader in signage and branding manufacturing since 1981. The Vinyl shop provides application, checking, packing & despatching of computer and hand cut & digitally printed graphics.
The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and maintaining vinyl products using a variety of tools and machinery. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised skills within a dynamic production environment. The position is suitable for individuals with a keen eye for detail and precision.
Person Specification
You will be able to work efficiently on own initiative, good communicator, excellent eye for detail and a good comprehension of dimensions.
Duties
o Reading and understanding manufacturing drawings.
o Always adhering to all health and safety policies.
o Being able to maintain a clean, tidy and organised environment.
o Visually checking quality of digital prints and computer cut graphics.
o Determining best method of application i.e., Wet, Dry or mechanical using laminator.
o Checking the dimensions, quantities and colours of graphics in relation to manufacturing drawing.
o Safe and competent operation of Flatbed laminating equipment.
o Hand cutting graphics applied to Acrylic or Metal letter faces.
o Suitably and safely packaging finished graphics for next department or courier.
- Conduct basic measurements and calculations using fundamental maths skills to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Maintain a clean, organised workspace in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements or efficiencies.
Experience
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, or manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of materials handling procedures within a warehouse or production setting.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, tooling, and basic mechanical tasks.
- Previous work in warehouse operations or assembly lines will be considered beneficial.
- A solid understanding of safety protocols related to manufacturing environments is essential.
