High-end decorating demands exceptional preparation, precision and an uncompromising approach to finish. We are looking for an experienced Decorator / Spray Finisher with strong professional spraying experience who takes genuine pride in their work and can consistently deliver flawless finishes across our residential projects.
The role
You'll be responsible for delivering premium internal and external decorative finishes, with a particular focus on spray application rather than traditional brush and roller decorating.
- Prepare walls, ceilings, timberwork and other surfaces to an exceptional standard before finishing
- Carry out professional spray application to walls, ceilings, doors, cabinetry, joinery and architectural details
- Set up, operate and maintain professional airless and HVLP spraying equipment
- Mask and protect surrounding finishes thoroughly to achieve clean, controlled results
- Select appropriate spray tips, pressures and application techniques for different coatings and substrates
- Apply primers, paints, lacquers and specialist finishes to achieve consistent, high-quality results
- Carry out traditional brush and roller application where appropriate, including cutting-in and detailed finishing
- Identify imperfections and preparation issues before finishing and rectify them to the required standard
- Read drawings and specifications, planning work effectively to achieve outstanding results
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment, particularly when spraying in occupied or partially completed properties
- Work closely with Project Managers and other trades to ensure projects are delivered on programme
What we need

- Proven experience delivering professional spray finishes within high-quality residential, commercial or joinery environments
- Strong practical knowledge of airless and/or HVLP spray systems, coatings and application techniques
- Exceptional surface preparation skills and attention to detail
- Ability to produce consistent, flawless finishes across large areas and detailed architectural elements
- Competent with traditional decorating methods when required, but with spraying as a core strength
- Ability to work independently, organise your workload and consistently deliver first-class finishes
- Strong understanding of preparation, drying and curing times, sequencing and protection of finished work
- Professional, reliable and respectful when working in clients' homes
- Positive attitude with a solution-focused approach
