Senior Architectural Metalwork Designer (Advance Steel) | Specialist Steelwork Projects
We are recruiting for an experienced Architectural Metalwork Designer with strong Autodesk Advance Steel expertise to join a well-established and growing specialist contractor delivering high-quality architectural and structural steelwork projects.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, taking designs from concept through to fabrication while collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings using Autodesk Advance Steel.
- Prepare fabrication drawings, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and material schedules.
- Interpret architectural and structural design information and convert it into fabrication-ready models.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure designs are delivered accurately and efficiently.
- Resolve design and detailing queries throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the successful delivery of projects from initial design through to manufacture.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience using Autodesk Advance Steel.
- Proven experience within architectural steelwork.
- Strong understanding of fabrication detailing and steelwork design principles.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
- Able to commute to the office-based location.
Desirable Experience
- Façade design experience.
- Structural steelwork experience.
- Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
