Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Bank Chef to join our team at a reputable nursing home. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for residents, ensuring that all food safety standards are met. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals in accordance with dietary requirements and nutritional guidelines
- Supervise food production processes, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient sourcing to meet residents’ needs and preferences
- Manage food safety protocols, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices
- Support the kitchen team in food preparation, cooking, and serving activities during scheduled shifts
- Oversee the organisation of kitchen operations during busy periods, maintaining efficiency and cleanliness
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained in good working order and report any faults promptly
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions of residents
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a hospitality or healthcare setting
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
- Good communication skills to work collaboratively with colleagues and healthcare professionals
- Previous restaurant or catering experience is desirable but not essential; relevant culinary qualifications are advantageous
- Experience in serving meals in a healthcare or similar environment is preferred
