Decanter is a Wine restaurant situated in the heart of Brunstfiled, We sever an eclectic Wine and Cocktail list, as well as Scottish traditional food with a twist, as well having a tasting menu option.
We are looking for both Full and Part time staff.
We are looking for someone who could go between bar and floor, As we are a small team we all work together.
We would be looking for someone with WEST level 2, But if someone with the right gusto for wine were to come along there would be an opertunity to be put through your courses by us.
Week availability is a must, with a one Sunday on, one Sunday off.
We host regular wine events, As well as access to wine events hosted by suppliers.
We are seeking a friendly and professional Bartender/Server to join our small team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, a passion for creating memorable dining experiences, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your hospitality expertise while providing exceptional service to our guests.
Duties
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company standards
- Take food and drink orders accurately and promptly, ensuring guest satisfaction
- Serve food and beverages at tables or bar counters with professionalism and courtesy
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar and dining areas throughout shifts
- Check identification to verify legal drinking age and adhere to responsible alcohol service policies
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including processing payments and giving change
- Replenish supplies as needed, including glassware, garnishes, and ingredients
- Engage with guests to create a welcoming atmosphere, answer questions about menu items, and promote specials
Requirements
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol service practices
- Strong serving skills coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions efficiently
- Good time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods
- Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic environment, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- A friendly demeanour with a professional appearance and attitude
- Must be at least 18 years old to serve alcohol
