Fringe Festival Supervisors – Alandas Street Food
Location: George Square Gardens & George Street, Edinburgh (Fringe Festival)
Contract: Temporary (End of July – End of August) also have temp to perm available.
Alandas is a local, family-owned business with multiple locations, including our popular mobile street food units at George Square Gardens next to Edinburgh University and George Street during the Fringe Festival.
We’re currently looking to hire multiple Supervisors to join our team for the duration of the Fringe Festival.
About the Role:
We’re looking for enthusiastic, hands-on individuals with some team leader or supervisor experience who can thrive in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
This role is ideal for:
- Students looking to earn extra money over the summer before returning to their studies.
- People who want to soak up the unique festival atmosphere, with Fringe staff passes included (offering show discounts and free entry to selected performances).
Key Responsibilities:
- Taking customer orders using the till.
- Preparing and serving customer orders.
- Keeping the unit clean, organised, and well-presented.
- Replenishing stock throughout the day.
- Working as part of a close-knit team, multi-tasking, and using your initiative.
- Delegating tasks and supporting team members during busy periods.
- Managing stock levels and ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Completing basic daily paperwork.
What We’re Looking For:
- Some previous supervisor or team leader experience (essential).
- A positive, proactive attitude.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and lead by example.
- Availability from the 5th to the 31st of August. Some training required beforehand.
- Friendly, customer-focused approach.
