Job Overview -
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team.
We are looking for caring and enthusiastic individuals to join our team supporting a young lady with autism in Par.
In this role you will be required to support with personal care, preparing meals, engagement in activities and light household duties. Supporting and encouraging their participation requires a skilled, non demand approach. An understanding of autism and pathological demand avoidance would be really useful in the role but is not essential as we can provide you with support in using communication to achieve the best results.
This role is for FEMALE only applicants. The shifts we have available are: (the shorter shifts can be link with other services to make longer shifts but would require a driver)
● Tuesday & Thursday: 15:00 – 19:00
● Sunday: 13:00 – 19:00 (changing to 15.00 - 21.00 when we provide waking nights)
● Two Mondays per month: 09:00 – 15:00
● Two waking night shifts per month (Sunday)
We are also looking to recruit male staff to provide support in Plymouth, Saltash and Launceston (must be a driver with access to a car and business insurance) on:
Monday: 11:00-17:00 then 18:00- 21:00
Tuesday: 10:00- 1700
Wednesday: 11:00- 17:00 then 18:00-21:00
Thursday: 11:00-17:00 (Saltash) 12:00-17:00 (Plymouth)
Friday: 10:00-18:00 (Launceston) 10:00-15:00 (Plymouth)
Job Description

Purpose of Role
You will support individuals to live a happy and fulfilled life and one that is as independent as possible. You will support them to develop positive relationships and to be an equal and valued member of their local community.
The role has responsibilities that focus on two areas:

You work effectively to provide individualised, outcome-focused support to the person you support.
You enable them to lead their lives as independently as possible.

You work collaboratively, positively and widely with the person, their family, and your Aspire and statutory colleagues,
What you need to bring - Bring fun, laughter, and creativity to the role by supporting individuals to make the most of their time in the community, while helping them build confidence and develop a sense of belonging within it.
Essential:
● Right to work in the UK (we have no remaining visas and are unable to offer a transfer of sponsorship for those who already have sponsorship with their current employer)
● Working with people with autism: 1 year (required)
● Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability and confidence to generate and build effective relationships
● Basic IT literacy and numeracy skills
● Supporting people with dignity and respect
● Day support MUST have a driving license with business insurance and a valid MOT certificate
Desirable:
● Initiative and confidence to make decisions
● Ability to work calmly , efficiently and accurately under pressure
● Knowledge about Care Quality Commission and care standards
● Educated to GCSE level, or equivalent, in Maths and English and/or a Social Care qualification
Other
● Willingness to undertake training and personal development activities as required
