MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure efficient operations.
- Assist the Chief Engineer with the execution of a preventative maintenance program for the installation, repair and performance preventative maintenance of laundry equipment, water systems and other related processing equipment to minimize unscheduled downtime.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments as needed.
- Advise the Chief Engineer of parts, supplies and equipment requirements with a keen awareness towards costs control measures.
- Prioritize and complete work orders in a timely manner.
- Keep accurate and timely records of maintenance performed in accordance with equipment warranties.
- Educate personnel on emergency procedures and safety precautions ensuring safety standards are being upheld throughout the facility with strong attention to fire protection and equipment hazards.
- Remain current on equipment repair procedures and best practices; maintain technical knowledge through educational workshops, review of technical publications.
- Perform other duties as required from time to time.
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of facility to insure an orderly and safe work environment.
- Utilize proper tools, safety measures, and Personal Protective Equipment PPE in all work actions.
- Operate man lift and forklift as needed.
- Assist the Chief Engineer with the execution of an effective preventive maintenance program for the facility to include but not limited to laundry processing equipment, air compressors, boilers, R.O. water system, and support equipment to ensure minimal downtime and optimal machine performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years in a maintenance position, preferably within commercial laundry facility.
- Two (2) years of college or trade school equivalent in a mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines, preferred.
- Proven knowledge of machinery, electricity, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, boiler applications and general facility repairs.
- Welding experience a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Excellent time management skills
- Valid Driver’s License
- Scheduling flexibility; able to work nights, weekends and public holidays.
Hourly Wage Range: US$17.00 - US$22.00 per hour
