Electrical project Manager / MEP Project manager
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical/MEP Project Manager to join a major infrastructure project at Heathrow Airport, working on the airport's baggage handling system.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract on a prestigious project, with work available through to December 2027.
Location: Heathrow Airport
Rate: £450–£500 per day
Duration: Until December 2027
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
TASKS/ACTIVITIES
The Construction Project Manager will take ownership of successful project delivery ensuring all design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover activities are aligned to achieve project objectives. They will proactively identify risks, constraints and opportunities affecting delivery and develop practical mitigation and recovery strategies where required. Working collaboratively with Planning teams they will ensure project programmes accurately reflect project requirements, critical interfaces and construction sequences and will challenge programme assumptions where activities have been omitted or do not adequately represent project delivery requirements. The successful candidate will drive programme performance through proactive leadership, effective coordination and informed decision making ensuring successful project outcomes are achieved safely, efficiently and commercially.
The Construction Project Manager will possess a sound understanding of engineering systems and their interfaces within complex construction and infrastructure projects including Mechanical, Electrical, Fire and Communications systems. Whilst not responsible for managing the design function, they will possess the technical understanding required to constructively challenge design proposals and understand their wider implications upon programme, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning activities
Purpose of the role: The Construction Project Manager is responsible for driving the successful delivery of complex construction and infrastructure projects through the effective coordination of Construction, Planning, Commercial, Design, Procurement and Commissioning activities. The successful candidate will proactively identify risks, constraints and opportunities affecting project delivery and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to develop practical and commercially viable solutions.
Previous Aviation experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
