Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated caregiver to provide exceptional care for a special needs adult woman of African descent. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting with daily living activities, fostering independence, and ensuring the overall well-being of the individual.
Responsibilities:
Personal Care:
- Assist with personal hygiene and self-care activities.
- Provide support in maintaining a comfortable and clean living environment.
Meal Preparation:
- Prepare nutritious and culturally sensitive meals according to dietary requirements.
Housekeeping:
- Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a tidy and organised living space.
Companionship and Outings:
- Engage in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and well-being.
- Take the individual on outings, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity.
Promoting Independence:
- Encourage and support the individual in developing and maintaining independence.
Transportation (preferred but not mandatory):
- Drive the individual to appointments and activities (if applicable).
Cultural Sensitivity:
- Understand and respect the individual's cultural background and preferences.
Sleepovers (occasional):
- Be willing to participate in occasional sleepovers as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Escort clients to appointments and social outings
- Monitor and report any changes in the client's health or behaviour
- Genuine care, empathy, and a desire to make a positive impact on someone's life.
- Understanding of and respect for cultural diversity, particularly African culture.
- A valid driving licence is desirable but not mandatory.
- Ability to pass a background check
Working Hours:
- Part-time and full-time positions available.
- Sleepovers shifts
- Flexible hours based on the needs of the individual.
