Join Compton Care as a Volunteer Receptionist and make a difference in your community.
Compton Care provides specialist palliative and end of life care to patients and support for individuals and their families. We have an 18 bedded Inpatient Unit at Compton Hall and provide care in the community including out-patient services, bereavement and supportive care. Our welcoming reception team is made up of both paid staff and dedicated volunteers — and we’d love you to be part of it.

What does the role involve?
As the first point of contact for visitors, staff and families, you’ll offer a warm welcome and help with reception and telephone duties. It’s a front-facing role that brings comfort, reassurance and a professional presence.
Shifts are 4 hours long:
Inpatient Unit (IPU):

8:30am – 12:00pm

12:00pm – 4:00pm
-
4:00pm – 8:00pm
Main Reception:

8:30am – 12:30pm
-
12:30pm – 4:30pm
-
4:30pm – 8:00pm
You don’t need specialist qualifications – just:
A warm and welcoming manner
Basic IT skills (comfortable using a computer and telephone system)
Good communication and people skills
A few spare hours each week
