About the Role
SureCare Central London is looking for a caring and reliable Female Care Support Worker to provide weekend support to a mother and her newborn baby in both hospital and home settings.
This is a rewarding role supporting a mother with mental health needs before and after the birth of her baby. You will provide practical help, emotional support, reassurance, and assist the mother in developing confidence in caring for her newborn.
The position would suit Student Nurses, Mental Health Nursing Students, Student Midwives, Student Paramedics, Social Work or Psychology Students, Healthcare Assistants, Family Support Workers, Nursery Nurses, Early Years Practitioners, and experienced Care and Support Workers who are looking to gain valuable experience supporting mothers, babies, and families.
The role will include:
- Providing emotional support, reassurance, and companionship
- Supporting the mother with day-to-day routines and newborn care
- Promoting positive parenting, independence, and wellbeing
- Working alongside healthcare and social care professionals
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns appropriately
Essential Requirements
- Enhanced DBS for Adults and Children (or willingness to obtain one)
- Understanding of Adult and Child Safeguarding procedures
- Right to work in the UK
- Good communication and record-keeping skills
- Reliable, professional, and compassionate approach
Experience in mental health, family support, childcare, maternity, neonatal, paediatric, healthcare, or community support settings would be advantageous but is not essential.
