Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable 2nd Fix Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of carpentry and joinery, with the ability to work efficiently on site during the second fix phase of building projects. This role involves collaborating with other trades, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring high standards of craftsmanship. The successful applicant will contribute to delivering quality finishes on time and within budget, supporting the overall progress of construction projects.
Duties
- Fitting doors, skirting boards, architraves, and other internal joinery elements with precision.
- Installing kitchen units, bathroom fittings, and other fixtures as part of the finishing process.
- Using hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble timber components accurately.
- Fabricating bespoke joinery pieces according to project specifications.
- Performing heavy lifting of materials such as timber, plasterboard, and fixtures safely.
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations and maintaining a clean work environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in carpentry, joinery, and fabrication within a construction setting.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and screwdrivers.
- Competence with power tools including drills, saws, sanders, and nail guns.
- Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Experience with construction painting for finishing touches.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship.
