Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods from our warehouse to various locations, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to handle heavy lifting as part of the daily responsibilities. A background in commercial driving or experience as a van driver is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a delivery vehicle, adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring that items are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any discrepancies encountered during transport.
- Assist in the warehouse as needed, including inventory management and organisation of goods.
Experience
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is advantageous.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and best practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 30 kg) safely and efficiently.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers and team members.
- Experience working in a warehouse environment is beneficial but not essential.
