Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class C&E Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to manage various driving conditions. Experience with double deck curtain side trailers is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate lorries in a safe and efficient manner, following all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of loads, particularly for flatbed deliveries.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and reports as required.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures while on the road.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations during transportation.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, with a valid HGV licence.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for safe driving.
- Ability to operate double deck curtain side trailers effectively, including loading and unloading techniques.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, particularly in challenging driving conditions.
