Overview
Job is for 26 hours per week, which is organised on a 2 weekly rolling rota to allow you to plan your work life balance. Shifts are from 9:30am to 4:30pm.
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Co-ordinator to join our dedicated care team. In this vital role, you will design, organise, and lead engaging activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a lively, inclusive environment where seniors feel valued, connected, and inspired. Duties
- Develop and implement a diverse calendar of activities tailored to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, games, exercise classes, and social events to promote engagement and community spirit
- Provide one-on-one companionship and personalised activity plans for residents requiring individual attention or specialised care
- Collaborate with care staff to assess residents’ preferences and abilities, ensuring activities are inclusive and accessible
- Monitor participation levels and gather feedback to continually improve activity offerings
- Maintain accurate records of activities conducted, resident participation, and any special needs or observations
- Foster a warm, energetic atmosphere that encourages residents to participate actively and enjoy their daily routines
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of senior care principles, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care techniques
- Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Creative mindset with the ability to plan engaging activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities
- Compassionate approach with a genuine passion for enhancing seniors’ quality of life
- Ability to work independently while collaborating seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of caregiving best practices related to senior care environments is an advantage
