As a Shredder Operator, you will be responsible for managing heavy machinery, ensuring smooth workflow, and maintaining safety standards to support our commitment to environmental sustainability and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Operate industrial shredders and related machinery with precision and care, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Conduct routine inspections of shredding equipment to identify maintenance needs and prevent breakdowns.
- Ensure proper handling and safety procedures are followed.
- Shift clean downs
- Help throughout the yard with every day tasks
- Follow all safety guidelines, including wearing protective gear and reporting hazards immediately.
- Assist with cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to keep equipment in top condition.
Experience
- Prior experience operating heavy machinery or industrial shredders is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot basic equipment issues quickly.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a physically demanding environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
- Previous experience in waste management, recycling, or manufacturing industries is advantageous.

Package:
Salary indication: £14.50 per hour
Holidays: 28 days (inclusive of Bank Holidays)
Working hours: 7am to 5:30pm (some flexibility required)
Working days: Monday to Friday & every other Saturday (morning shift of 5 hours) with potential of overtime available
Licence/Certification:
- Loading shovel licence
- 360 excavator licence
Pay: From £14.50 per hour
