About the Role
The Community Engagement Officer will help raise the profile of Broughton House Veteran Care Village by building strong relationships across the local community, increasing awareness of our services, and supporting fundraising activities. The role will engage with veterans, supporters, partners and volunteers, helping to grow community connections that contribute to the organisation's long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement
· Build and maintain relationships with local organisations, community groups, veterans, carers and supporters.
· Develop and manage a CRM database of supporters, contacts and stakeholders.
· Represent Broughton House at community events, meetings and engagement activities.
· Support outreach activities to increase awareness of Broughton House's services and programmes.
Awareness & Communications
· Engage with online and community audiences to strengthen awareness and supporter engagement.
· Work alongside the Marketing & Partnerships Executive to support campaigns, events and community initiatives.
· Capture feedback and community insights to inform future engagement and fundraising activity.
Fundraising Support
· Support the delivery and promotion of community fundraising events and initiatives.
· Help develop relationships that encourage long-term supporter engagement and future fundraising opportunities.
About you
Essential
· Knowledge of, or connection to, the Armed Forces community.
· Experience in community engagement, supporter engagement, fundraising support, communications or outreach.
· Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Organised, proactive and able to work independently.
· Confident representing the charity within the local community.
· Confident using social media platforms such as LinkedIn and X
· Commitment to the values and mission of Broughton House Veteran Care Village.
Desirable
· Experience within the charity, public or voluntary sector.
· Experience supporting fundraising or community events.
· Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Additional Requirements
· Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends to support events.
· Ability to travel across Greater Manchester and the North West when required.
